Dublin always seems to be at weary dusk or just approaching it. The shapes of the city were mainly drafted by hands not our own, from Anglo Norman, to Georgian. It's doorways, fan windows and spires were left behind by others. Dublin has worn them away elementally through wind and rain and the persistence of the cities personality. Worn them away, softened and bent them into the slight surreal familiar of these images.
\n
The prints in this exhibition are Archival Pigment Prints on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta fibe based paper 325 gms, in two sizes, A3 (\"11.7 X \"16.5) and A2 (\"16.5 X \"23.4), with a small white border. We grew to know the city intimately, its ways, its changing mood and light, its sounds. For us, there are memories around every corner of this town, first trips to the cinema, visits to Santa at Christmas on Henry Street and Grafton Street, frantic with Christmas shoppers. First pints in John Mulligans Bar on Poolbeg Street, first nervous dates under Clery's Clock. This very rich tapestry of experiences is powerfully re-invoked by these images.
\n
The prints in this exhibition are Archival Pigment Prints on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta fibe based paper 325 gms, in two sizes, A3 (\"11.7 X \"16.5) and A2 (\"16.5 X \"23.4), with a small white border. P. Hartley resonates profundly in the ephemeral feel and athmosphere of this exhibition. To stop and linger outside the gates and walls of the disused shop, bar or house, is to hear the voices and feel the energy of those once within - the sounds, accents, minds of an Ireland now passed yet still present in these remnants. Though sometimes decrepid they still retain the essence and stature of their glory days. These poignant images take us back in time to a place we can never go - to our own past.
\n
The prints in this exhibition are Archival Pigment Prints on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta fibe based paper 325 gms, in two sizes, A3 (\"11.7 X \"16.5) and A2 (\"16.5 X \"23.4), with a small white border.
